Dominican Republic to host meeting of International Solar Alliance

Santo Domingo.- Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, met with representatives from the International Solar Alliance (ISA) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to hold the Sixth Meeting of the Regional Committee of the International Solar Alliance for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santo Domingo.

The event will take place from September 10 to 12, 2024, as agreed upon by the Dominican Republic, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and the ISA mission.

The primary goal of the ISA is to promote the efficient use of solar energy to reduce fuel dependence. Countries from across Latin America and the Caribbean will participate in the meeting.

Minister Almonte expressed gratitude to the ISA for selecting the Dominican Republic as the host country and emphasized the country’s commitment to decarbonizing its energy matrix through clean energy.
