Government to launch security plan for Colonial City

Santo Domingo.- Starting August 9, the Government will implement a “Comprehensive Plan for the Security of the Colonial City” to enhance the operations of the Tourist Police.

Joel Santos, Minister of the Presidency, announced that the pilot program will deploy 143 agents, led by an operations manager and supported by a monitoring and control center dedicated to the tourist area.

The plan will cover the area bounded by Francisco Alberto Caamaño Avenue, Mella Avenue, Padre Billini, and Estrelleta, divided into four quadrants for effective management.

Santos explained that the initiative is aimed at ensuring security ahead of President Luis Abinader’s inauguration and will be established as a permanent measure, as reported by Diario Libre.
