Alexander Ogando finishes fifth in 200m Final

Paris.- Dominican sprinter Alexander Ogando concluded his participation in the 200-meter dash by finishing fifth in the final with a time of 20.02 seconds. This placement earned him an Olympic diploma, recognizing his achievement as one of the top eight runners in the event.

Although Ogando did not break the 20-second barrier, he recorded his best time of the entire Olympic competition, improving with each race from the qualifiers through the semifinals.

The race’s biggest surprise came when Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo was crowned Olympic champion at the Stade de France in Paris, winning the final with a time of 19.46 seconds. This was sixteen hundredths of a second faster than the time recorded by American favorite Noah Lyles, who finished third, preventing him from emulating the triple gold medal feat achieved by Jamaican Usain Bolt.
