La Vega: RD$2.7 million and other belongings stolen in minimarket

La Vega – Agents of the National Police, through an arduous intelligence work, apprehended a recognized delinquent accused of breaking into a minimarket from where he stole the sum of $RD2.7 million, a firearm and alcoholic beverages, among other merchandise, and from the house a motorcycle, both facts occurred in this province of La Vega.

The alleged offender is a well-known Haitian national, Sony Pie, 29 years old, resident of this city.

The accused penetrated inside the business located in C/P Rancho Viejo, La Vega, breaking the back door of the business. In the action he managed to take several merchandise such as whiskies, cans of oil, cans of milk, the sum of RD$2.7 million that was in the safe, which he broke to take the money, and a 9MM caliber FEG pistol, serial No. G01187.

In the same vein, the detainee is accused by the victim, whose name is withheld, of having entered his house in the early morning hours of July 30 of this year, and stole the motorcycle X-1000, black, model T105.

To conclude the investigation process, the arrested Haitian national will be sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
