Dominican Republic, Haiti to protect private investment

Santo Domingo.– The governments of the Dominican Republic and Haiti will focus on the protection of bilateral investments as stated in the the signing of a memorandum of legal certainty.

The agreement, whose draft is under study, seeks to protect Dominican entrepreneurs who have invested in Haiti and vice versa, in order to avoid that market rules, tariffs or customs may change to the detriment of one party.

Deputy foreign minister Cesar Dargam said the Dominican Republic has already sent the draft proposal to Haiti.
