Haitian Presidential Transitional Council declines invitation to Abinader’s inauguration

Haiti.- Amid ongoing tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, the Haitian Presidential Transitional Council has declined an invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Luis Abinader as he begins his second term.

The decision comes as the airspace between the two nations remains closed, complicating travel for the Haitian delegation. Reports indicate that to attend the inauguration, the Haitian representatives would have had to undertake a lengthy journey, first flying to Miami, United States, before returning to the island to reach Santo Domingo.

Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic continues its preparations for Abinader’s inauguration, an event expected to draw dignitaries from several countries and serve as a significant moment in Dominican politics.
