China sends envoy to attend Abinader’s inauguration

Beijing.- The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Jin Zhuanglong, an envoy of Chinese leader Xi Jinping, will represent China at the inauguration of Dominican President Luis Abinader as he begins his second term following his electoral victory in May.

Jin, who serves as China’s Minister of Industry and Technology, has been appointed by Xi as his special envoy for the event. He will attend the official ceremony in the Dominican Republic this Friday.

During the event, Jin is expected to meet with various Latin American leaders, including Colombian President Gustavo Petro, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, and Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino. These meetings occur against a backdrop of regional concerns, particularly the situation in Venezuela and the disputed election results of July 28, in which Nicolás Maduro claimed victory.
