Montecristi.- The Dominican Republic Navy conducted a maritime operation near Montecristi to enhance border security. The operation involved three naval units—a patrol boat and two interceptor boats—working together to protect the country’s maritime sovereignty.

During the mission, a 19-foot boat was intercepted near Cayo Monte Chico, approximately 9 nautical miles from Parolí, Montecristi. The boat carried three Haitian nationals who were found engaging in illegal fishing within Dominican territorial waters. The individuals were arrested and brought to the Parolí dock, where they were handed over to the General Directorate of Immigration for legal processing.
