Congress installs executive offices and begins 2024-2025 legislature

Santo Domingo.- This Friday, the Senate of the Republic and the Chamber of Deputies convened to establish their executive offices for the 2024-2025 term. In a joint session, they launched the second ordinary legislature, which will run until January 12.

Ricardo de los Santos (PRM-Sanchez Ramírez) was confirmed as President of the Senate, with Pedro Catrain (Samaná) as Vice President. Lía Santana de Díaz (Azua) and Aracelis Villanueva (San Pedro de Macorís) will serve as Secretaries.

In the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco will continue as President, supported by Dharuelly D’ Aza as Vice President. Emil Durán and Leyvi Bautista will serve as Secretaries.

Additionally, the 32 senators and 190 deputies were sworn in for their four-year terms, spanning from 2024 to 2028.
