Sunny and hot Saturday due to Sahara dust particles

Santo DomingoThe Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecasts that Saharan dust particles will inhibit the development of clouds, generating significant accumulated rainfall over much of the national territory. Therefore, a sunny and warm Saturday is expected.

The institution discontinues the provinces under weather alerts. However, a weak trough at nightfall is expected to affect some municipalities.

The local effects and the influence of the wind will increase cloudiness accompanied by local downpours, occasional thundershowers, and isolated wind gusts in some municipalities of La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabón, Valverde, Monte Cristi, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and Monte Plata.

Likewise, local short-duration showers are forecast for the night, mainly over some towns on the Caribbean coast.
