At least 11 dead and more than 30 injured is the preliminary balance of the accident that occurred in Azua.

Santo Domingo – Preliminary reports of the accident which occurred early this morning in the community of Bastidas, in the municipal district of Villarpando, in Las Yayas, confirm 11 people dead and at least 30 injured.
Most of the injured were taken to San Juan because it is closer, said the provincial director of Health of Azua, Joel Montaño.

He explained that only four people were admitted to the Taiwan Hospital of Azua in stable condition with multiple injuries and fractures.

While a source of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), in Azua, confirmed early to Listin Diario that six corpses had been taken to that place and that they would receive two others.

Most of the deceased are men, but there is a 20-year-old woman. Among the injured is a 17-year-old teenager.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred when a truck loaded with avocados rammed a group of people leaving a bar. It is not known if the truck’s driver is among the victims.
