Dominican Republic extradites homicide suspect from Spain

Santo Domingo.- The National Central Office (OCN) of Interpol Santo Domingo, in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office, has initiated the extradition of a Dominican citizen, Edwin Ventura de los Santos, from Madrid, Spain. He is wanted by Dominican authorities for homicide and was apprehended under an international red notice (A-1873/2-2024) issued on February 16, 2024.

The arrest followed a court order issued on January 22, 2024, by the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the Duarte Judicial District. OCN-Interpol Santo Domingo, part of the National Police’s Central Investigation Directorate, facilitated his transfer to the Dominican Republic, where he will face trial.

This operation highlights the ongoing international cooperation between police and judicial authorities in combating crime, reaffirming the Dominican Republic’s commitment to justice.
