Faride Raful announces intervention operation in Greater Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo – The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, announced they will launch an operation in Greater Santo Domingo to intervene in sectors with higher indicators of social conflicts and insecurity.

The “Joint and Coordinated Intervention of Prioritized Sectors of the National District” operation will occur throughout the national territory, especially Greater Santo Domingo.

“We decided to intervene in the sectors where the hot spots map highlights indicators of crime and citizen security throughout the national territory,” said the minister during the launch of the operation at the headquarters of the National Police.

Raful said that by the will of President Luis Abinader and the Ministry he heads, all the forces of law and order will be summoned to work together with the Public Ministry “to work for a better country.”

Given this, the official encouraged law enforcement members to go to the streets to enforce the law and maintain order as mandated by the Constitution. She also invited citizens to collaborate with the authorities during these tasks.

“To be prudent and work accordingly, because a place where laws are not enforced, where order is not enforced, is an anarchy where chaos reigns and rights are violated,” concluded the Minister.
