Army Commander inspects northeast military units

Santiago, DR.- The Commander General of the Dominican Republic Army, Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, conducted an inspection tour on Wednesday of several military units in the Northeast region, part of the 2nd Infantry Brigade of the Dominican Army (ERD). This visit is part of a series of tours across the country to evaluate the operational capabilities and working conditions of soldiers, with the goal of improving infrastructure and quality of life for military personnel and their families.

The tour began at the Fernando Valerio Fortress in Santiago, the headquarters of the 2nd Brigade, and included stops at the 4th Battalion in La Vega, as well as detachments in Navarrete and Bonao. The inspection also covered various checkpoints in the region, concluding at the La Barranquita post in Santiago.

Accompanied by his Coordinating Staff and other officers, Major General Camino Pérez reiterated his commitment to improving the welfare of the troops and further strengthening national security, aligning with the directives of President Luis Abinader and Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Fernández Onofre.
