DGM investigates video of foreigners’ pursuit in Bávaro

Santo Domingo.- Following the circulation of a video depicting the pursuit of several foreigners on a rooftop in Bávaro, La Altagracia province, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has launched an investigation into the incident. The DGM assures the public that once the investigation identifies those responsible, appropriate actions will be taken to prevent such occurrences in the future, and those accountable will be addressed. The foreigner who fell is currently recovering in a health center in Bávaro.

Director General of Migration Venancio Alcántara has condemned the actions shown in the video, stating that these methods are not endorsed by his administration. He emphasized that interdiction operations, which involve DGM personnel supported by military forces, are guided by Law 285-04 on Migration and human rights. Members of these operations receive specific instructions on conducting their work ethically and adhering to established standards.
