PN agents kill two men yesterday

Santo Domingo — San Francisco de Macoris – Two men were killed yesterday by police officers in alleged confrontations, one in San Francisco de Macorís and the other in Villa Duarte, Santo Domingo Este.

In the first demarcation, Víctor Michel, 39, was killed by members of the Southeast Regional Subdirectorate of Investigations (Dicrim), who were looking for him, accused of homicide and “multiple crimes” and who would have confronted them with a rifle. The law enforcement body said a junior officer was injured.

The other case left as a victim a young man only identified by the agency as Yassel, and the same as the previous one was shot by a Dicrim team. The event occurred on Calle U, La Francia sector.

According to the Police and although he does not offer his full name, he was being pursued for his involvement in “serious crimes” and opened fire on the agents, “who forced by the situation to repost the aggression”.

In his report, he states that he died “while receiving medical attention.”

As evidence that the now deceased assaulted the agents, the entity showed a rusty 9 mm caliber pistol, with its magazine and two capsules, which would have occupied the man shot dead.

The report indicates that he was wanted through two arrest warrants for violations of the Penal Code.
