Passports open 70 thousand new face-to-face appointments

The General Directorate of Passports announced yesterday that it has opened 70 thousand new face-to-face appointments in its offices nationwide for the application or renewal of travel documents this month.

According to a note, appointments are available through the online platform www.citas.pasaportes.gob.do. This platform allows users to select the date, time, and office of their preference in an estimated 24 hours.

Lorenzo Ramírez, director of the entity, indicated that the availability of immediate appointments was a need of the population due to how important it is for citizens to have available spaces that facilitate obtaining a passport.

He also explained that they have simplified the process to guarantee greater speed and convenience to users through a “Payment Button” linked to the National Treasury. This button allows the procedure to be carried out with a credit or debit card or the bank receipt of the Banco de Reservas.

Ramírez urged citizens to take advantage of these new places and make their appointments in advance to avoid setbacks that could affect their trips.

The official reiterated to citizens that they must show up for their appointment only 15 minutes in advance. The system is prepared to provide assistance according to the schedule chosen by the user to avoid service delays.
