Eight injured in traffic accident in Santiago

Santiago.- This Monday, a traffic accident involving an SUV and a public transport vehicle left eight people injured on Circunvalación Sur Avenue in Ensanche Libertad, Santiago province.

The National Emergency and Security System 911 reported the deployment of six ambulances from the Directorate of Extra-hospital Emergency Services (DAEH) and two units from the Santiago Central Fire Department. Rescue teams are working to free a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

Two National Police units, including personnel from the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (DIGESETT) and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), are on-site to manage traffic, which remains partially obstructed. The 911 System urged drivers to yield to emergency vehicles and follow authorities’ instructions for timely assistance.
