INTRANT and Adecla address workers’ transportation in Punta Cana

Punta Cana.- The director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant), Milton Teófilo Morrison, met with the Association of Developers and Builders of La Altagracia (Adecla) to address transportation issues for construction workers in the rapidly growing Verón-Punta Cana area. The meeting focused on finding solutions to improve mobility and reduce traffic congestion, which has become a significant problem in the region.

Morrison emphasized the need for collaboration between Intrant, the transport sector, and local developers to create a working group that would develop strategies within the framework of Law 63-17. Adecla president Cristian Medina acknowledged the daily traffic challenges faced by residents and expressed optimism about the potential improvements, suggesting that larger buses and more efficient routes could help alleviate congestion.

The rapid development in Verón-Punta Cana has led to increased traffic on roads like Barceló Avenue and the Verón-Punta Cana Highway. The district experiences heavy congestion, particularly during rush hours, as buses and other vehicles clog the narrow streets. The meeting marked the start of a plan to improve transportation for workers and ease traffic in the area.
