Eight night establishments closed in latest Operation Peace Guarantee

Santo Domingo.- During the third consecutive weekend of Operation Peace Guarantee, led by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Directorate (COBA) of the Ministry of the Interior and Police, eight night establishments were temporarily shut down, and 24 others were issued violations. The infractions included noise pollution, obstruction of public roads, and failure to comply with regulations on alcohol sales hours.

The joint operation, conducted on September 20 and 21, involved agents from the National Police, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and other institutions. In the National District, the Oasis Lounge was closed for hosting clandestine parties, while Heydell Bar, Covit Cafeteria, and Edward Winery were shut down for noise violations and blocking public roads. In Santo Domingo Oeste, four venues—Bodega Anthony, Correa Car Wash, La Opción Licor Billar, and Súper Colmado Belier—were also closed for violating alcohol sale hours and obstructing public spaces with excessive noise.

The operations were in response to numerous citizen complaints about public disturbances, fights, and insecurity. Business owners are required to meet with the Ministry of the Interior and Police to ensure future compliance with laws related to public order. Minister Faride Raful affirmed that these efforts will continue nationwide, calling on citizens to support initiatives aimed at improving security and reducing social conflict.
