Dominican Republic advises citizens to leave Lebanon

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised its citizens residing in Lebanon to leave the country while commercial flights are still available, following intensified Israeli attacks in the region. The recommendation comes as a precautionary measure due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Hezbollah militia.

The Dominican Embassy in Turkey, which also oversees Lebanon, has been in contact with the estimated 150 Dominicans living in the country. Most are currently outside the conflict zone, and only three have requested assistance to process travel documents at the embassy to return to the Dominican Republic.

For additional support, the Ministry has urged citizens to reach out to the Dominican Embassy in Turkey or the Directorate of Protection of Nationals. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council is holding urgent consultations on the situation as tensions escalate following Iran’s missile attack on Israel and Israel’s ground incursion into Lebanon.
