Ten imported players, most of them with Major League experience, have been added to the blue squad for the upcoming winter baseball season.

The Tigres del Licey intend to field a team of similar competitive quality to the Major League teams for the upcoming Dominican winter baseball season.

According to Ricardo Ravelo, the president of the two-time national champions, it is like a “dream team.”

“We have put together a very solid team, with no defensive or offensive holes,” said the chief executive of the winningest team in the history of Dominican baseball.

“Licey has a pitching staff, both starting and bullpen, that rivals any MLB team,” he added.

“We have speed on the bases and hitters with knowledge of the strike zone,” he said.
Ravelo made his statements during the traditional blue press conference before the start of the season, which will begin on the 16th of this month this year.

The goal for next season is for the Tigres del Licey to lift the championship trophy for the third year in a row.

Also speaking at the meeting with the press, held at a luxurious hotel in Santo Domingo, were Audo Vicente, General Manager, and Manager Gilbert Gómez.

Both are satisfied with how the blue team has been structured.
Vicente thanked the Licey board of directors for their unconditional support in structuring a competitive team for next season.

On his side, Gilbert Gómez presented the bulk of the native players and the imported players.
“In the case of the imported players, 10 in total (three absent), almost all of them have Major League experience,” said the leader of the blue team.
