Key figure in Koldo case linked to money transfers to Dominican Republic

Madrid.- Víctor de Aldama, a central figure in the Koldo case, is accused of diverting funds to the Dominican Republic, according to a report by Spain’s UCO (Central Operational Unit). The case implicates Pedro Sánchez in the controversial rescue of Air Europa and the trip of Venezuela’s Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, to Spain.

Aldama allegedly paid a commission of €6.6 million for this scheme and orchestrated the transfer of money to the Dominican Republic, involving Koldo’s brother, Joseba García, who made at least two trips to the country between October and December 2021.

These transfers were coordinated by Aldama, Koldo García, and a third individual who provided the cash. Evidence includes conversations about how much money to give Joseba, with mentions of “10K,” suspected to be €10,000—the monthly amount recorded in the plot, according to reports by Vozpópuli.

This new report casts suspicion on former minister José Luis Ábalos and, for the first time, implicates Spain’s President in the affair. The case further highlights connections between the plot, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, with Aldama emerging as a key figure in what could become a significant political scandal.
