Mild tremor shakes Dominican northern region

Santo Domingo.- The USGS.gov site reported a 4.5 magnitude quake, 3 kilometers south-south·east of Licey al Medio, in Santiago province, around 11:27 a.m. Saturday. No injuries or damages were reported.

The tremor was detected at 26.9 kilometers in depth and was felt in La Vega, Santiago and Puerto Plata provinces, as well as in certain areas of Santo Domingo.

The USGS placed the epicenter around 6 km WNW of Moca, 8 km SSE of Tamboril, 12 km ESE of Santiago de los Caballeros and 118 km NNW of Santo Domingo.
