Spirit Airlines plane diverted to Dominican Republic after gunfire near Haiti Airport

Santo Domingo.- A Spirit Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency detour to the Dominican Republic after being fired upon while attempting to land at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Haiti. The plane, which was traveling from Fort Lauderdale, encountered gunfire near the airport, prompting the pilot to reroute the aircraft.

The incident has raised concerns as gangs and criminal groups in Haiti had previously threatened to escalate violence in Port-au-Prince. While no reports of injuries or significant damage to the plane have been confirmed, Spirit Airlines has not yet commented on the matter.
