Wander Franco ordered to make regular court appearances for illegal firearm use

San Juan de la Maguana, DR.- Baseball player Wander Franco has been ordered to make periodic court appearances following charges of illegal firearm possession related to an incident last Sunday in San Juan de la Maguana. Judge Viamerca Ruiz of the Permanent Attention Court in San Juan approved the measure, requested by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Franco was reportedly involved in an altercation on Doctor Cabral Street in the Sara de los Ángeles residential area. Police responding to the scene found a Glock model 19 pistol in his black Mercedes Benz, which was allegedly registered to his uncle, Branly Fernando Lugo Rodríguez, and lacked proper documentation. The court order mandates Franco’s continued involvement in the legal process while investigations proceed.

This case adds to Franco’s legal troubles, as he is also scheduled for a separate trial on December 12 in Puerto Plata, where he faces charges related to alleged psychological and sexual abuse of a minor.
