2024 Special Forces Competition inaugurated in Sierra Prieta

Yamasá, DR.- Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre inaugurated the 2024 Special Forces Competition, featuring elite units from the Dominican Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Police. The event aims to enhance the strategic and operational capabilities of these specialized forces.

The opening ceremony took place at the Sierra Prieta Tactical Training Center in Yamasá. Scheduled from November 15 to 26, the competition will include activities at Sierra Prieta and the Navy’s “Las Calderas” Naval Base in Peravia province.

Participants are elite personnel from the Special Counterterrorism Command of the Ministry of Defense and the special units of the military branches. Teams will compete in multidisciplinary challenges to showcase their skills and readiness.
