Santo Domingo.- The Central American Parliament (Parlacen) and a high-level delegation from China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) convened to enhance bilateral and parliamentary collaboration. The meeting, chaired by Ramón Emilio Goris, Vice President of Parlacen’s Dominican branch, and Li Hongzhong, Vice President of the NPC Standing Committee, focused on reaffirming ties, initiating new cooperation projects for the Dominican Republic, and discussing China’s role as a Parlacen observer country.
The Chinese delegation included senior officials such as Liu Junchen, Chen Luning, and Weng Jieming, while Parlacen representatives included Michelle Ortiz, Esmeralda Mancebo, and others. Topics of strategic importance, including trade, education, environmental protection, and cultural exchange, were addressed during the discussions.
Deputy Goris emphasized the significance of these dialogues in fostering regional development and deepening the relationship between China and Parlacen. Both delegations highlighted mutual interests and opportunities for collaboration in key sectors.
