Minister Andrés Bautista assesses flood damage in Las Terrenas

Las Terrenas, Samaná.- Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, visited Las Terrenas, Samaná, to evaluate damage caused by recent floods. Accompanied by Olmedo Caba of INDRHI, Governor Teodora Mullix, Mayor Eduardo Polanco, and Civil Defense representatives, Bautista met with local authorities and residents to address urgent recovery needs.

The delegation assessed critical damage, including overflowing rivers and destroyed homes and roads. Bautista emphasized the Government’s commitment to swift and effective solutions, following President Abinader’s directive to prioritize the affected population. Immediate actions include deploying Public Works brigades, distributing humanitarian aid, and initiating infrastructure repairs.

Bautista also announced a comprehensive disaster mitigation plan focusing on improved drainage systems and preventing river overflows. Residents expressed gratitude for the Government’s timely response and reaffirmed support for ongoing recovery efforts.
