Promese/Cal Coordinator detained at Newark Airport

New Jersey.- Stephen Dominguez Madera, provincial coordinator for Promese Cal pharmacies in Esperanza, Valverde, was detained at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey on Wednesday, facing charges of trafficking controlled substances. Dominguez Madera is employed by Promese Cal, a public institution in the Dominican Republic responsible for distributing medications to hospitals and pharmacies across the country.

Preliminary reports indicate that Dominguez Madera was found in possession of an unspecified amount of controlled drugs, allegedly intended for illegal distribution. Despite his position as pharmacy coordinator in Valverde, questions have arisen regarding the legitimacy of his role, as there is no Promese Cal warehouse in that province—medications for the area are shipped from the institution’s Santiago headquarters. This has raised concerns about potential irregularities in his activities and responsibilities.
