Santo Domingo.- During a luncheon at the Ministry of Defense, President Luis Abinader announced that retired members of the Armed Forces would receive 100% health insurance coverage starting January 1, 2025. Addressing the retirees, Abinader described the initiative as an act of justice, ensuring support for those who need it most after years of service.
The president acknowledged historical disparities in benefits between active and retired military personnel, pledging ongoing improvements to their conditions. He highlighted previous efforts under his administration, including significant salary increases for both the Armed Forces and National Police, even during challenging times.
