10 inmates escape from jail in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata, DR.- Police authorities reported today that ten inmates escaped this morning from the prison at the National Police headquarters in Puerto Plata, in Dominican Republic’s nothern region.

The prisoners, whose identity is still unhown, broke the prison bars with a hacksaw. All of them are on remand and some are minors. They were in the same cell.

General Romer Lopez said the police launched an operation to capture the fugitives.
