United States.- Chief Justice Luis Henry Molina of the Dominican Supreme Court (SCJ) met with U.S. Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., to exchange ideas on the Rule of Law, judicial independence, and the challenges faced by their respective systems. The discussion aimed to enhance collaboration and explore joint projects for improving the administration of justice.
Molina emphasized the importance of adopting global best practices, highlighting the contrast between the Dominican Republic’s high rate of litigation—where 90% of cases go to trial—and the United States’ focus on negotiation to resolve 90% of cases. He expressed optimism that knowledge exchange could strengthen both systems, fostering greater transparency, efficiency, and respect for human rights.
The meeting aligns with the Dominican Judiciary’s international agenda to modernize its justice system and establish itself as a regional model of legal development. Molina reaffirmed his commitment to advancing justice through partnerships and innovation.
