Govt. has no available resources to compensate Falcondo

Santo Domingo.- Administrative minister Jose Ramon Peralta on Monday said that the government does not have available financial resources to compensate Falcondo if the entire Loma Miranda becomes a national park.

In that regard, the official said, as reported in El Nuevo Diario, "it is supposed that when approving the law, legislators have taken into account that these resources are not included in the budget."

"I imagine that the legislators have taken into account the pros and cons of what that means; I guess that in this project everything has been thought, wether we have to compensate or not; and in case you have to compensate, where to look for the resources, because the Dominican Government has no available financial resources right now," Peralta said in an interview at the National Palace.
