Haitian Police eliminate 16 gang members in security operation

Port-au-Prince, Haiti.- The Haitian National Police (PNH) reported the deaths of 16 members of the armed group Base Grand Grif during operations in Palmiste, Artibonite. The group is accused of orchestrating massacres that claimed nearly 150 lives in October and early December.

The operation occurred during an exchange of fire in one of the gang’s strongholds. The PNH emphasized its commitment to dismantling armed groups and restoring security in the region, enabling residents to resume their daily activities.

The United Nations announced its intensified efforts to dismantle armed gangs across Haiti, particularly in Artibonite, where progress is being made against organized crime. The collaboration aims to bolster security and stability in the country.
