INFOTEP plans to train over 821,000 participants in 2025

Santo Domingo.- The National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP) aims to train 821,202 participants in 2025, marking an 11% increase compared to the 737,551 individuals trained in 2024, according to its Annual Operational Plan (AOP).

The 2025 plan outlines 45,024 training actions or courses nationwide, an expansion from the 40,626 courses offered in 2024. INFOTEP’s strategy focuses on meeting the demands of productive sectors by broadening its training coverage and advancing programs aligned with Industry 4.0, digital skills acquisition, and innovation promotion.

The plan also includes enhancing virtual training services and continuing the modernization and expansion of physical and technological infrastructure for technical and professional education. By achieving these goals, INFOTEP seeks to boost workforce development, enhance productivity across sectors, and improve employment outcomes.

For 2025, INFOTEP has allocated a revenue budget of RD$7.22 billion. Operating expenses are projected at RD$6.82 billion, representing a 6.1% increase over 2024.

The investment plan amounts to RD$400 million, with RD$270 million earmarked for administrative investments such as office furniture, transportation equipment, and computer systems. Additionally, RD$80 million will be allocated for technological upgrades of machinery and equipment, and RD$50 million for infrastructure improvements.

The initiatives outlined in the 2025 AOP align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the National Development Strategy, the Public Sector Multiyear National Plan, and the Dominican Government’s key policies.

The AOP was reviewed and approved by INFOTEP’s tripartite Board of Directors, which oversees and guides the institution’s operations.
