Ex president the least popular, current leader, the most: Gallup poll

Santo Domingo.- In the latest survey by Gallup published by newspaper Hoy, citizens were asked about whom they would never vote, with the following results:

37% said they’d never vote for former president Hipolito Mejia, 22.3% would never cast their ballot for virtual PRD presidential candidate Miguel Vargas, while 22.2% said they would never choose the also former president Leonel Fernández.

As to former Mejia ticket-mate Luis Abinader, 0.7% said he would never get their vote, while just 0.5 said they’d never do so for president Danilo Medina.

Vargas and Mejia had waged a bitter two-year conflict for control of the opposition PRD party, which the former finally won.
