Dominican government announces 25% salary increase for doctors

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Government has announced a 25% salary increase for doctors, beginning in January 2025, as part of an agreement with the Dominican Medical Association (CMD). The raise will be implemented in phases: a 10% increase in July 2025, based on the January adjustment, and an additional 5% in January 2026, based on the July increase.

The salary adjustment applies to doctors affiliated with the National Health Service (SNS), the Ministry of Public Health, self-managed hospitals, 911 services, Conape, and medical auditors performing healthcare duties, regardless of the number of appointments they hold.

The agreement was formalized in the Green Room of the National Palace, signed by Vice President and Health Cabinet President Raquel Peña and CMD President Waldo Ariel Suero, alongside members of the Health Cabinet and the CMD board of directors.
