Santo Domingo.- Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia arrived in the Dominican Republic via the Ambassadors’ Lounge at Las Américas International Airport. He was welcomed by Francisco Cantizano Nadal, director of State Ceremonies and Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREXRD).

Accompanied by notable figures such as Antonio Ledezma, former mayor of Caracas, and David Smolansky, OAS commissioner for the Venezuelan migrant crisis, González Urrutia’s visit underscores the importance of international alliances.

The trip comes ahead of a pivotal political moment on January 10, when González Urrutia aims to assume the presidency, challenging Nicolás Maduro’s government. This visit highlights his efforts to strengthen global support amidst Venezuela’s ongoing political uncertainty.
