Dominican Republic appoints five new ambassadors

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) announced the appointment of five ambassadors, including four rotating positions and one new diplomatic representative, under decree number 2-25 issued by President Luis Abinader.

Francisco Manuel Comprés Hernández was named ambassador to India, transitioning from his role as chargé d’affaires in Israel. Raquel Jacobo, previously stationed in Antigua and Barbuda, was appointed ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago. Jerjes F. Suriel Mota will serve as ambassador to Cuba, having previously held the position of chargé d’affaires in Venezuela until July 2024.

Sara E. Altagracia Paulino Cárdenas, formerly assigned to Guatemala, was appointed ambassador to Bolivia, while Ricardo Tomás Polanco Reinoso was named ambassador to Guatemala. These appointments await Senate ratification as required by Article 128 of the Dominican Constitution.
