Collado leads Confotur meeting to drive tourism investment

Santo Domingo.- In a collaborative effort to enhance transparency and sustainability in the Dominican Republic’s tourism sector, Minister of Tourism David Collado joined Finance Minister Jochi Vicente and Environment Minister Paíno Henríquez for a key meeting of the Tourism Development Council (Confotur). The meeting, attended by private sector representatives, focused on strategies to ensure strict adherence to Confotur’s regulations.

Collado emphasized the importance of working closely with the business sector to maintain the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading tourist destination, while prioritizing environmental sustainability and transparency. “We are committed to ensuring tourism development is orderly, transparent, and sustainable,” he stated.

Vicente and Henríquez underscored the significance of inter-institutional collaboration to foster tourism investment while safeguarding the country’s natural resources. The meeting reaffirmed the Dominican government’s dedication to promoting responsible tourism as a key driver of economic growth.
