Pedernales.- Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, Commander General of the Dominican Republic Army, conducted a tour of military units in the border provinces of Pedernales, Jimaní, Elías Piña, and Dajabón. The visit included stops at various detachments, posts, and official Dominican-Haitian border crossings.
During the tour, Major General Camino Pérez reaffirmed the commitment to enhancing border security and improving the operational capabilities and conditions for soldiers, in line with directives from President Luis Abinader and Minister of Defense Carlos Fernández Onofre.
The tour began in Pedernales, where the commander visited key locations such as the Enriquillo Fortress, El Embalse and Paso Sena detachments, and mobile checkpoints. The visit continued through Jimaní, Elías Piña, and Dajabón, where he reviewed military facilities and infrastructure projects, including an irrigation canal on the Masacre River.
