Dominican airports break passenger traffic records in 2024

Santo Domingo.- VINCI Airports reported record-breaking passenger traffic at the six Dominican airports it manages, with a total of 6.85 million passengers in 2024—a 4% increase compared to 2023. Las Américas International Airport (AILA) led with 5.81 million passengers, setting a new record, while Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata saw a 19% growth, surpassing pre-pandemic figures with over 880,000 passengers.

In 2024, Aerodom invested over $30 million in modernizing AILA, upgrading public areas, roofs, facades, lighting, and air conditioning systems, as well as expanding parking facilities. These improvements aim to enhance passenger experience and reflect a more modern, functional terminal.

Environmentally, Aerodom earned the Green Airport Award from ACI-LAC and maintained its ACA Level 3 Carbon Footprint Accreditation. The company also renewed its ISO 14001 environmental management certification, showcasing its commitment to sustainability. VINCI Airports attributed these achievements to collaborative efforts with authorities, airlines, and business partners.
