Former first lady passes away

Santiago.- Former first lady Renée Klang widow Guzmán passed away 5:05pm Wednesday at Santiago’s Metropolitan Hospital (HOMS), arter suffering from ill health during several mnths. She was 97

A medical team fought against several health problems affecting Klang, lovingly called the “eternal first lady” for the numerous programs she implemented to help the poor from 1978 to 1982.

Her late husband and president Antonio Guzman took his own life while in office in June, 1982, just months before the end of his term.
