Personalities back top traffic cop in fight to quell chaos

Santo Domingo.- Metropolitan Transit Authority director (AMET) Pablo A. Pujols on Thursday got surprising support from several personalities, in a visit that included philanthropist Dr. Félix Cruz Jiminián.

The visitors said much of the population welcomes and lauds Pujols’ initiatives, which Cruz notes benefit wide sectors of Dominican society. "We’ve been able to perceive great support for general Pujols’ work being done in the country’s streets and avenues. We know of his career and we’re committed to support."

Another supporter, merengue star Rafa Rosario praised the official’s vision on traffic, road safety and the actions that must be taken to solve the country’s transport problems. "That’s what’s needed to improve traffic, therefore we will support all of his initiatives."

Among the group of supporters also figured business leaders Ramón Álvarez and Juan Oviedo.
