President Abinader to host MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred at National Palace

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader will welcome Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred to the National Palace this Wednesday, alongside National Baseball Commissioner Junior Noboa. The meeting, scheduled for 5:00 p.m., underscores the strong ties between the Dominican Republic and Major League Baseball (MLB).

Junior Noboa emphasized the significance of Manfred’s visit, stating, “This highlights the importance of MLB to our country and the unwavering support President Abinader has shown for baseball, the Dominican Republic’s national sport.”

Manfred’s visit follows his attendance at last year’s Rays vs. Red Sox series at Juan Marichal Quisqueya Stadium. Recently, President Abinader and Noboa also hosted Tony Clark, director of the MLB Players Union, further reflecting the positive relationship between MLB and the Dominican Republic.
