Santiago signs agreement to attract global tourists for 2025 Carnival

Madrid, Spain.- At the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Spain, the Mayor of Santiago de los Caballeros, Ulises Rodríguez, and the President of the Association of Incoming Tour Operators of the Dominican Republic (OPETUR), María Grazia Battaglia, signed an agreement to attract global tourists to Santiago. The partnership aims to promote the city, particularly its renowned Santiago Carnival in 2025, while expanding the city’s tourism offerings.

The agreement establishes a collaborative effort to manage and promote tourism in Santiago, with OPETUR focusing on attracting visitors for the Carnival scheduled for February 23 and March 2, 2025. The City Council of Santiago will provide the necessary event details and programs to ensure successful tourism engagement.

The Visit Santiago initiative, involving local institutions and the Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster, will further strengthen efforts to raise awareness and attract visitors to this vibrant Dominican destination.
