Dominican Republic ranks 7th in Latin America for talent and skills

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic ranks 7th in Latin America and 37th globally in Coursera’s 2024 talent and skills ranking. The country is positioned behind Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Mexico, and Colombia but ahead of Argentina, Venezuela, Honduras, El Salvador, and Bolivia.

The ranking evaluates 109 countries based on business, technology, and data science skills. According to the report, Latin America and the Caribbean show a strong commitment to Artificial Intelligence, with generative AI adoption growing each year.

Learners in the region are focusing on high-demand technological skills, particularly in fields like machine engineering and cloud security. Additionally, online education is becoming more balanced, with 49% of learners being women and 46% using mobile devices for learning.
