Kathleen Martínez recognized by Forbes for archaeological achievements

Renowned Dominican archaeologist Kathleen Martínez has been named to Forbes’ prestigious global “50 Over 50” list, which honors women over 50 who continue to break barriers in their respective fields. Martínez was recognized for her groundbreaking work in archaeology, particularly her decades-long search for Cleopatra’s tomb.

Her excavation efforts at Taposiris Magna, Egypt, have made significant strides, with major discoveries in 2022 bringing her closer to uncovering the final resting place of Egypt’s last female pharaoh. At 54, Martínez remains dedicated to expanding historical research and collaborating with international teams to further unravel ancient Egypt’s mysteries.
