Punta Cana attracts 80% of Argentine tourists visiting the Dominican Republic

Punta Cana.- Punta Cana continues to be the top destination for Argentine tourists, drawing 80% of visitors from Argentina who choose the Dominican Republic. In January 2025 alone, 51,000 Argentines arrived, marking a 104% increase from the previous year. February projections range between 30,000 and 35,000 visitors, positioning Argentina as the third-largest tourist market after the U.S. and Canada.

Tourism Minister David Collado highlighted the need to promote other destinations beyond Punta Cana. Strong air connectivity has fueled this growth, with Aerolíneas Argentinas operating multiple weekly flights from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, and Tucumán. Additionally, Dominican low-cost airline Arajet, which launched Argentina routes in November 2023, now offers six weekly flights to Punta Cana.
